When Ryan Zinke resigned his House seat in March 2017 to become Secretary of the Interior, America Rising quickly mobilized its resources on behalf of its clients for the special election scheduled to be held in less than 3 months. Ultimately, America Rising would track 111 events and draft a 119-page research book chronicling Democrat candidate Rob Quist, a locally famous musician and political newcomer.
America Rising’s research operations played a fundamental role in damaging Quist’s candidacy. Early in the race, America Rising uncovered information that clients then pushed concerning Quist’s history of shaky personal finances and legal issues. Those narratives provided a crucial buffer to Republican Greg Gianforte when the polls tightened later in the race.
